16 November 2015 – The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC®) announces that there will be two separate submission deadlines and kickoff dates for “threads” of the OGC Testbed 12 Interoperability Testbed. Responses to the OGC Testbed 12 Aviation thread must still be received before 5:00 pm U.S. Eastern Standard Time (EST) on 20 November 2015. Responses to the other six threads, however, are now due before 5:00 pm U.S. Eastern Standard Time (EST) on 11 December 2015.
Also, Testbed 12 kickoff venues and dates have been announced. The Aviation Thread kickoff meeting will be held at the Harris Corporation Offices in Washington, DC, 19-21 January 2016. The kickoff meeting for all of the other threads will be held at the USGS Headquarters in Reston, VA on 1-3 March 2016, in the week before the OGC Technical Committee meeting at the World Bank in Washington, DC.

Anyone interested in learning more about this opportunity should contact Scott Serich, Director Interoperability Programs (techdesk@opengeospatial.org). See http://www.opengeospatial.org/ogc/programs/ip for more information about the 16-year-old Interoperability Program in which OGC testbeds, pilot projects and interoperability experiments are organized, planned and managed.
The OGC® is an international geospatial standards consortium of more than 515 companies, government agencies, research organizations, and universities participating in a consensus process to develop publicly available standards. OGC standards support interoperable solutions that “geo-enable” the Web, wireless and location-based services and mainstream IT. Visit the OGC website at http://www.opengeospatial.org/.
