This position is a fantastic opportunity for someone who’s excited about leading member success and growth in the world’s foremost non-profit dedicated to open geospatial standards and innovation. As the Senior Director of Member Success and Development, you’ll take the reins of membership development, member engagement, and stakeholder interactions. You’ll also oversee the OGC Member Success and Development team. 

In this role, you’ll be responsible for developing, implementing, and fine-tuning strategies that enhance member success and engagement. Whether it’s helping with member recruitment and retention or participating in conferences and events, you’ll play a central role in ensuring that OGC members across the globe feel connected and get the most out of their membership. 

You’ll collaborate regularly with colleagues, member representatives, and stakeholders from around the world, so building strong relationships will be key. If you’re passionate about creating meaningful connections and ensuring that members are deeply engaged and well-supported, this role is for you. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Member Success: Focus on providing top-notch member services, fostering strong engagement, and ensuring high member retention. 
  • Member Development: Lead efforts in recruiting new members and driving growth. 
  • Team Leadership: Manage and guide the OGC Member Success and Development team to ensure they deliver their best work.

The ideal candidate will have a track record of success in the following areas: 

  • Business Development & Member Growth: You’ve got experience in business development, prospecting, recruiting, and growing memberships or customer bases, especially in the global geospatial field. 
  • Enhancing Member Experience: You understand what members value, and you have a knack for anticipating their needs, exceeding their expectations, and making sure their engagement with the organization is meaningful. 
  • Leadership in a Global, Virtual Environment: You know how to lead and inspire diverse teams that may be spread across different time zones and geographies, ensuring smooth collaboration and high performance. 
  • Problem-Solving & Strategic Thinking: You’re able to forecast business opportunities and risks, leveraging your technical know-how to solve problems and deliver results, even when faced with incomplete information. 
  • Process Improvement: You have a talent for identifying areas where processes can be optimized and streamlined to support the organization’s goals and improve outcomes.

Other Qualifications: 

  • OGC primarily works remotely from home, so outstanding self-motivation, prioritization, and time management skills are essential to operate in our rapidly-evolving and globally distributed environment. 
  • Experience with geospatial business is highly desired. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and intercultural communication skills to work with executive/management and technical professionals, as well as with other stakeholders. 
  • A strong sense of purpose, customer service, and close attention to detail. 
  • Must be a solid leader, a motivated follower, and a collegial teammate. 
  • Experience with CRM systems is a must to enable data-driven decision-making—Experience with the Zoho One platform is desired. 
  • Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time globally. 
  • Fluent in English, other desired languages include German, French, Spanish, or Arabic. 

Salary range of $125K-$145K USD, plus competitive benefits package.
