Cassie Lee is the Chief Innovation Officer (CIO) at the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC).
Prior to joining OGC, Cassie founded several programs at the intersection of technology and impact including Space Programs for Paul G. Allen’s Vulcan, Climate Intelligence for Lockheed Martin, and the entertainment nonprofit Sound Future. Most recently, Cassie served as a Senior Partner at Ode, specializing in AI and data to empower people and planet. Cassie began her career as an aerospace engineer with roles at NASA, Sierra Nevada Corporation, and SpaceX.
Cassie is a founding member of the United Nations Space4Women and co-founder of the award-winning Brooke Owens Fellowship. She continues to serve as an External Strategic Partner at Ode and an advisor for Sound Future, PLACE, Art for Action Foundation, and Bye Aerospace.
Cassie holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Iowa and MA in Journalism from the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she also created and taught a Graduate-level course in the Department of Aerospace Engineering Sciences. Cassie was named a Top 25 Most Powerful Women in Business by the Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce and as an Honored Alumni from the University of Iowa.
